If so, how is it?
I liked the demo and have been thinking of picking up the full game.

Have been playing it for about a week. I'm about 5 hours in, and I think
there's about 12 hours all up. It rocks, reminds me of more old-school hack
and slash games, but there are enough unique elements (platform areas,
trebuchets to operate etc) to keep you interested. The combo attacks are
good - I'm buying up and using mainly combos for two-handed weapons like
staffs and claymores. Next time through I'll concentrate on the 2x
one-handed weapon skills. Kills are very gory, there's female nudity so I
wouldn't recommend if there are kids around (there are parental controls to
remove this but it would take most of the fun and "conan atmosphere" out of
it).

I rented it and finished it in 2 days on normal difficulty. It's pretty
much a god of war clone. It does have some cool moves you can learn. Really
you can get thru the whole game with just mashing the light attack button.
Some enemies you might need to hit the heavy attack button.
Be warned the voice acting for the characters is really awful.
Overall it's a good rental but, I would never pay $60 for it.

I got this one about a week ago and finally got around to opening it
last night. So far, I love it. It is definitely inspired by God of
War, but with enough to keep it fresh. As one of the posters above
said, it does remind one of those sorely missed hack and slash games
of the good old days.

I would recommend it if you have $60 burning a hole in your pocket.

That would depend on the title and the developer.

And how many 360 titles were delayed because of development issues ? But I
was addressing the article and the timeframe it represents, so take this
into account, one game for the PS3 was
actually developed for the PS3 at that time, RFOM, and it wasn't delayed.
The others were almost all ports, didn't see dev problems there. Dirt, for
the 360 which came out 2 months before the PS3 version, was not as good as
the PS3 version, so writing code doesn't seem to be an issue either. Why
after over 1-1/2 year of making games on a console, is the 360 version of
Dirt not as good as the same game that came out on a system not close to a
year old when it was released? IOWs, it seemed harder to make the game
better for the 360.

Also, correct me if I am wrong, but for the 360 I think COD2 cost about
$15mil to develop,
Perfect Dark Zero took 3 years and $12mil to develop. But here we have
Heavenly Sword run along $15-20mil range to develop (and that is well into
3-4 years), so I don't see cost as a point now since it seems to be about a
wash for both system in dev costs, it would be an issue if the consoles
didn't sell, which what was Namco is contesting

> Admittedly 26K units moved in a year is probably not very profitable,

The point is, the article makes a
statement regarding some 500k threshold to make money on PS3 titles at that
time, (do you see Namco or any other developer making this claim now?), yet,
it also states that just a tad more than 1/20 (of 500K) of Namco's titles
(meaning not just one title) for the 360 sold in its first year of
availability at the end of 2005. Where's their money making issue with that?

While I see your point, you are making it a stretch since the meat of
Namco's
argument was how many PS3s were released for launch for them to make their
500K claim. Yet the 360 had less at its launch. But it state "titles" sold
only 26k in (if just in one week would be total shit) for the easy to write
to 360
for that relative time frame.

That stuns me. I loved the original on Xbox and thought the seqeal would
naturaly come out on all the next generation systems, but it's only for Wii
and PS3? Will there be a 360 version in the future? (Like a belated release
with thet GTA franchises on Xbox?)

Manhunt 2 has been getting dreadful reviews. Everything Rockstar has
done save GTA3 and Bully has stunk badly.

It's not even on the PS3. It's Wii, PS2 and PSP. The PSP version has
already been hacked to remove the editing.

Here are the latest Japanese console hardware sales for the week of
October 22 - 28:

1. NDS Lite - 76,243
2. PSP - 59,792
3. Wii - 27,502
4. PlayStation 3 - 18,785
5. PlayStation 2 - 11,698
6. Xbox 360 - 3,718
7. GB Micro - 64
8. GameCube - 58
9. GBA SP - 41
10. NDS - 30

The novelty of the Wii is looking like it is wearing out and both the
Wii and DS are showing a big drop in sales numbers, indications of
reaching saturation levels. This has been happening for a few months
now in Japan with sales of the PS3 and PSP starting to ramp back up in
comparison. It is becoming obvious the PS3 is the console that comes
out on top after the Beanie Babies appeal of the Wii. The xflop 3-
shitty isn't even in the picture, being more like the fake dog poop of
consoles. The Japanese market is starting to see the PS3 is the game
console and entertainment system for 2008 and beyond. Sony, the PS3
and PSP own 2008 and beyond while the xflop 3-shitty continues its
slide into the shithole of death.

He probably still thinks that was an Xbox screenshot.

So what are you saying? I mean, there is no reason why may fighter should throw a punch and then be frozen and I can't move him even to block while someone else has the time to hit me with a serious blow. It should not happen.

I know this game is old, but online I still play this one most. I hate the fact that I cannot select options and choose any and every fighter or weight class. I also hate the fact that some opponents fighters seem to be faster than mine or even faster when I used their fighter. Also, how come when I throw a punch, my guy becomes immobilized and cannot move while the other guy can give me a good punch? If that bullshit would end, I would never lose.

What I gathered from the reviews was that it was an action-RPG- far
more than a "little" RPG element. I could be wrong, as I haven't
played it.

Considering that the PS2 still had a fair number of multiplayer games,
I'm not sure your point is that strong. Xbox Live was a much more
efficient and centralized system, but I'm not sure that the game
libraries themselves reflected any major trend.

I'm not sure if that was the case for at least a couple of years after
launch. But Halo was already the most prominent game of the Xbox
library within the first year.

Sony has released little more than a trickle of exclusives. Heavenly
Sword didn't sell that well because of the reviews saying it was far
shorter than God of War 2, but it still sold OK. The God of War games
sold pretty well, despite the fact that they had NO multiplayer. HS
was a case of "not enough value for the money". Ratchet & Clank just
released, and has had precious little advertising prior to release.
Lair suffered TERRIBLE press, due to the motion control fiasco. I'm
sure that if one of these franchises had been the main prop of the
prior console iteration's success, and had $10 million+ in advertising
behind it, the attach rate would have been quite a bit greater. I
can't really think of any other recent Sony exclusives.

Also, are those 5.5 million consoles sold, or shipped?

>I am thinking it is because they

I've already given my argument why the statement that a single player
story has no "replay value" is erroneous. I haven't seen anything to
show that my argument is wrong.

Not big enough to keep Shadowrun from flopping.

See above.

I think that's a good point- the existence of exclusives, while
important, is still not as much of a factor as would be a system that
lacked games, period, whether they be multiplatform or not.

Of course, the Wii has sold a ton, despite the fact that it gets the
shaft as far as getting multiplatform games. That may be due to the
price factor........

Hey Guys, wonder if anybody can help?

I was watching a movie on one of my 360's and all of a sudden it started
to jump a little then go into fast forward mode. I took the disc out and
it was as new (clean). I've come across disc's jumping when they are
dirty, but never going faster. Has anybody else ever had this happen?
