But... My PS2 has a built-in PSU which just takes a figure-eight cable
from the mains; or did they mean the first PStwo with built-in PSU?

And Sony accuse *Microsoft* of confusing the issue with different SKUs...

If this is true it seems to be a strange move by Sony. Since they took
backwards compatibility out of the PS3 to strengthen the attach rate
(and presumably phase out production of PS2 games), why rerelease the
PS2 at this point?

On the other hand, recent PS3 adopters annoyed about the lack of PS2
compatibility can buy a separate console for with the money saved from
the price drop.

PS. This isn't an attack on the PS3 - nothing there indicates that
this is a fault of the hardware - rather, it's Neversoft's fault.

Hmmm, I don't recall saying that any of those are characteristics of a
real man. Your list obviously varies from mine. Whatever floats your
boat.

However I did say that a politically correct piece of shit that is
offended by the word "retard" is not a real man.

If you're assuming I meet anyone of those criteria you listed, you are
100% wrong. I call people retards to their face all the time. And I'm
yet to have anyone "hand me my ass". If you think I am "acting tough",
then I am sorry that I frightened you. Perhaps your parents should
install some sort of filtering software so you don't have to read
posts from people like me.

1 button combat?
OMG say that is incorrect information please!?
The AI and now this?
The game is becoming more unappealing with each passing video, preview and
review.
Amazing visuals, concept, story but possible poor execution with gameplay
complexity and AI.

How do you have 1 button combat? What is the point? The fights might as
well be cutscenes if that is the case.

Not if it's rythmic combat - which Fable 2 is using as well.

It's context sensitive, and you can easily fuck up fighting. This is
not a beat 'em up.

PS. Most PC games have one button combat. (laugh)

Exactly.
Oh well this is shaping up to be a rental.
Just more money for games I was going to pass on. Maybe GH3 or Pro Street.

Says who? Have you actually played it? Single button combat may make
it MORE immersive - becoming all about technique and less about button
hunt-and-mash and combo memorization.

But hey, if you lost interest, that's fine - more copies for the rest
of us.

Doug is all about exclusives. In fact he rarely makes a post without
pointing out how there are no games to play on the ps3. He doesn't seem
to grasp that we can actually play non-exclusives on our console.

To be fair, a potential consumer is going to evaluate the consoles not
only on the number of games there are but how many exclusives there
are. Games like Call of Duty 4, Grand Theft Auto IV, Madden,
Strangehold, etc. aren't going to factor into a decision-making
process because you can play them on either console.

A consumer will base their decision more on which console has the
greater number of exclusives they want to play. If the consumer really
likes the Halo franchise, they'll go with the Xbox 360. If the
consumer really likes the Ratchet and Clank franchise, they'll go with
the Playstation 3.

However, it's also tough to ignore seeing a much bigger section of
games for the Xbox 360 than for the Playstation 3. The diehard
Playstation fans who are adamant about playing the Sony-associated
exclusives will go for that box nonetheless, but a more casual gamer
or someone looking to purchase for a loved one is going to be more
likely to choose the Xbox 360 simply because there are more games to
play, exclusive or not.

Of course, price had to factor into it earlier in the year. Now, with
the $400 PS3 on its way, it pretty much just comes down to the games
(and to some extent the Blu-Ray capability).

Really? HD-DVD must have been doing pretty damn good in the beginning
of the year, then, because from January to September in the United
States, there were less than twice as many Blu-Ray discs as HD-DVD
discs sold.
